New Venue, New Dates

WOW what a week it has been!

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Jacoby Arts Center in Alton, Illinois suddenly and without warning announced on March 1st that it could no longer host From the Inside Out. Elizabeth and I were forced to seek another venue. Not an easy task on short notice since galleries usually book shows a year or two in advance.  I immediately sought help from numerous galleries in the St. Louis/Metro East region.

And...we were very VERY lucky indeed!

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Elizabeth's and my alma mater, generously stepped forward today and allowed us to slot our show into their calendar in place of the annual faculty exhibition at the beginning of the fall semester. We are forever in their debt.

This means our opening date will only change by a day or two. Our closing date will change however. The new venue can only accommodate our show for 5 weeks due to other shows that must fit before semester break.

NEW DATES:  August 18 to September 21, 2014. We are negotiating the date of the opening reception. We will let you know as soon as we know. Gallery hours during the week may vary also.

Fabienne's workshop will go on as planned. And she will be at ADW Gallery SIUE for an artist talk on September 18 to which all workshop participants are invited as well as the public. Time of the talk to be announced.

Also, in the very near future I hope to announce a workshop to be taught at the university textile lab by Rio Wrenn. Stay tuned. Lots of excitement coming.

ADW Gallery and the new Art & Design West addition to the art department at SIUE was dedicated in March of 2013. It is a beautiful space and we can't wait to see our show installed there.  We couldn't have asked for a more professional looking space.  I'll be posting more pictures soon on the ADW Gallery page.

    1. Whew is right! I was sweating bullets there for awhile. But it's going to work out beautifully.

I can't wait to meet Rio in person…she and I have been having some marathon phone calls. Our history and involvement with rusting is eerily similar.
